EUROPEAN SPORTS WEEK
Eurpean sports week is an important prjoect which is traditionally held every year mainly aimed at bringing together people from every walk of life, at any age and raising awareness about being active.
It has been concluded that this important event will be supported by European Parliament despite the fact that Turkey is not yet a member of EU due to the fact that HIS Turkish Sports for All Federation has been granted the authority to coordinate European Sports Week events by The Ministry of Youth and Sports as a result of previous successful projects (Let’s Walk Together, HisApp, HIS Festivals and Sports for All Daily events) together with approval by European Parliament.
HIS Federation has been granted authority to coordinate the whole set of events under the scope of European Sports Week by Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports and European Delegation.
Within the scope of European Sports Week, the main goal of the project is to encourage about 4.5 million people to participate these events regardless of their age, gender or ethnic background and by doing that making the entire 83 million people living in our country feel a part of this project when the multiplier effect of 4.5 million participants is taken into consideration. Although the overall target of this project is the entire 81 cities of our country, the foremost target population is the 10 metropolitans which have the highest population and touristic potential (Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Antalya, Muğla, Adana, Bursa, Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Erzurum). Throughout European Sports Week (23-30 September), We will be holding 85 different National Sports and Health Days events in these above mentioned 10 big cities while various events aiming at raising awareness on sports and healthy living will be being held in all 81 cities in cooperation with our project partners.
