EVENT CALENDAR
Within the scope of the European Sports Week activities, it is aimed that approximately 4.5 million people, regardless of age, gender and ethnicity, and with the multiplier effect, the entire population of our country, 85 million, will be a part of this project with sports and physical activity.
The primary target audience of our project has been determined as 7 cities (Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Gaziantep, Trabzon and Van) with high tourism and population populations in Turkey.
During the European Sports Week (23-30 September), 110 different National Sports and Health Days for All will be held in 7 provinces and 7 regions, which are among the primary target audience of our project, and various activities to raise awareness about sports and healthy living will be carried out with our project stakeholders.
Our activities in 7 provinces will be as follows:
-Istanbul
Located in the Marmara region, Istanbul is Turkey's most populous city with a population of approximately 16 million. 14.9% of the population is young. Istanbul is the city with the highest number of universities in Turkey with a total of 62 universities. Outdoor activities will be held on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 30 events will take place in this city due to the large population.
Ankara, located in the Central Anatolia region, is the second most populous city in Turkey with a population of approximately 6 million and is the capital of Turkey. 14.9% of the population is young. There are 21 universities in total in Ankara. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 20 different events will take place.
-İzmir
Located in the Aegean region, İzmir is Turkey’s third most populous city with a population of approximately 4.5 million. 13.2% of the population constitutes the young population. There are 9 universities in total in İzmir. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 15 different events will take place.
Antalya, located in the Mediterranean region, is especially the capital of tourism. It has a population of approximately 2.5 million. 13.8% of the population is young population. There are 5 universities in total in Antalya. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 15 different events will take place.
-Gaziantep
Gaziantep, located in the southeastern Anatolia region, has a population of 2.1 million. 17.2% of the population is young. There are 4 universities in total in Gaziantep. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 15 different events will take place.
-Trabzon
Trabzon, located in the Black Sea region, has a population of approximately 1 million. 15.2% of the population is young population. There are 3 universities in total in Trabzon. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 15 different events will take place.
Erzurum, located in the Eastern Anatolia region, has an important place in winter sports tourism and its population is 758 thousand. 19.7% of the population constitutes the young population. There are 2 universities in total in Erzurum. Outdoor activities will take place on September 23-30 in 2022 and 2023, and a total of 15 different events will take place.
